Wolf mask, antique type, human hair trim. Purchased from Julius Carlebach 937 3rd Ave New York. Nootka. 20 ¼” long overall, inc headbow at back; mask proper is 17 ½” long, 7 ¼” high, 7 ½” wide at rear. An extraordinary specimen suggesting by its appearance and degree of finish, work of the years before and after 1800. The extreme quality of the parallel adze grooving should be noted, as well as the technic of attaching the human hair trim. From the Ratton Collection, Paris.
