|Description:||Emmonds Beach was a village site for ɬaʔamɩn people for thousands of years. When smallpox hit, this is where many people died. Emmonds Beach was also where the healer Felix (toqʷɑnən pɛlɩks) helped Charlie Bob reclaim his spirit, as told by Elsie Paul in the story “He Got His Spirit Back.” The owl in the story landed on the large maple pictured here, just above the beach.|
