|Title:||Wiping out the Herring|
|Description:||A fleet of fishing boats in front of the ɬaʔamɩn village of tʼɩšosəm in 1984. The name tʼɩšosəm refers to “milky” water – the site was a rich herring spawning ground, turning the water milky with herring eggs. Overfishing in the 1980s led to the near extinction of herring, which have only just begun to recover in the past several years.|
